4.3 Reflections on Game Presentation

I think that a portion of my presentation that didn't go so well was explaining the type of game that was designed.  The reason I think this is because we accidentally mixed two different kinds of games into one. I think it would be easy to improve this aspect of the presentation very easily just by correctly categorizing the kind of game that we designed. We said that the game was skill/strategy when this is not the case. In order to improve this, the skill portion needs to be taken out and it makes it easier for the audience to understand what kind of game it is. And since it is a chess game, this subtraction of the skill aspect makes it easier to understand that it is a strategy based game. Another point of the presentation that could have been better would be the pitch itself. We didn't do a very good job convincing the audience that it would be a fun game to play and that they should buy it. Maybe with a better explanation as to what makes the game fun and unique from other chess games would make audiences more interested in it. I felt as though The objectives were really easy to explain. Since it is a chess based game, and many people already know how to play chess, it is understandable that in order to complete a game, the match must be won. It was also easy to make the audience understand that in order to complete the objectives of moving up in the tournament that each opponent must be beaten in order.
