  1. Although all the soundscapes in class were well produced, I feel like your group utilized the idea of using sounds representationally the best. The semantic sound of a camera's light flashing in addition to the wash in effect added to the comic picture was produced masterfully. I also found it very clever how you used the picture of the female comic character as a fill for the text in one of your frames. It provides a good example of contrast between the figure and ground.

It is clear how much time and thought went into the members of the project's minds and yourself. The emotional comparision of the audio with the visual seems very appropriate and intricate. For example, the casual sounds of the water during a frame shot of the character in your story laying dead in the water. The tie of the audio to the visual is flawless, very nice work fellas!

  2. Kevin,
I was very intrigued by your soundscape. I enjoyed the transition and manipulation of your photos and the change tempo of your sound. The repletion of the photos allowed your direction to stay clear and kept the audience reminded of the initial emotion of the work. The causal sounds of the gun, water, and birds allowed your audio to have a strong connection to your photos and gave them a similar aspect. By speeding up and slowing down the audio you were able to successfully change the emotion as time progressed. It was clear by the end of the project that there was a conflict of emotion going on. Good Job!
    Cheer.

  3. I liked the style of story telling you used in your soundscape. While I understood that you were going somewhere with the story I couldn’t quite understand but at the same time I was simply enjoying the ride. In my own opinion your powerful images really drove your soundscape. The very cool layering of several images really gave them far more emotion then just changing the colors. My personal favorites were the layering of the tree with a door with the young girl, I wasn’t expecting it. The other being the women with the word “jump” on screen at the same time it was fantastic. You guys also made excellent use of the sounds like the casual birds and the representational “deaths” of your characters

  4. I really liked the use of the visuals and various sound effects you implemented into your soundscape. The referential sounds were very interesting implementation to the overall project. Each scene had a very emotional representation, and created a mood that was very clear and apparent. I liked how you make your audio faster and slowing it down to make a more emotional effect. You defiantly used your limited visuals to your advantage. When I look at both your sound and the power point I see a lot of time and effort put into it to create the final product.

  5. What makes this one cool is how you overlapped sound, music, AND visuals. I think you picked the right slides for the job, allowing you to mix and match them until you had a powerful and clear story. You also did well at giving your sounds and music the proper volume and speed. The way you adjusted the volume of your casual sounds (bubbles, birds, gunshots) to fit the plot was realistic gave it a greater sense of space, at least in my opinion. The speed at which you played your music really contributed to your success at conveying your emotion; slow during love scenes, fast during conflict, and very slow during end scene. I had a little trouble realizing what was going on at the beginning, but I might just be stupid. Overall, good job.
